Montessori Entrance

Welcome to JPS Montessori!

The Montessori offers Kindergarten – 5th grade classes that are newly renovated with safe and secure entryways and upgraded with 21st century learning furniture and technology tools. The Montessori allows students to learn at their own individual pace and according to their own choice of activities. Learning is an exciting process of discovery. At the JPS Montessori, children are grouped in mixed ages and abilities. Multi-age flexible grouping allows each child to find his/her own pace. This allows for constant  interaction,  problem solving,  child to child teaching and socialization. The children are challenged according to their ability and are never bored.

JPS Montessori Weekly Announcements

Week of February 16, 2025

Good Evening Montessori Families!

This is Mr. Jayne with your weekly update.

A reminder that there is no school Monday, February 17th in observance of President’s Day.

The lock in has been rescheduled for Friday, February 28th from 3-5pm. Admission is $5 and pizza, pop and snacks are for sale for $1.

Please make sure students are dressed for the cold weather in coats, hats and gloves. We go outside everyday unless the real feel temperature is below 10 degrees. If you are in need of outdoor essentials, please call the school or let their classroom teacher know.

We will be presenting at the school board meeting on Tuesday, February 18th at 6pm in the Jackson High library. This will be our opportunity to showcase some of our students, and educate the community on our amazing Montessori methodology.

This is the season for germs and illness to start amping up. Please keep in mind that regular attendance is required per law. Regular attendance is essential for student success. Michigan law requires all children from six to eighteen to attend school. If your child is not at school due to sickness they will be considered unexcused absences unless there is a doctor's note regarding the illness. If your child has missed a significant amount of school Ms. Tonya will be reaching out to you to address barriers and to help ensure your child is successful! We appreciate your partnership in your child’s academic journey!

We are looking for donations for March is Reading Month Prizes. Our theme is Reading is Sweet. This can be little toys, books, candy, pokemon cards, etc. Thank you for your contributions. Our top readers will get a special reward!

We are actively planning for our Mackinac Trip. The date and bus have been reserved for May 28th. We are overjoyed to have so many families and companies that have sponsored all of our 4th and 5th grade students. We will be scheduling a meeting for parents and families in March.

That’s all for this week. Parents and guardians, thank you for everything that you do. Enjoy the rest of your evening! And, as always, Go, Vikings!!
