Welcome to JPS Montessori!
The Montessori offers Y5 – 5th grade classes that are newly renovated with safe and secure entryways and upgraded with 21st century learning furniture and technology tools. The Montessori allows students to learn at their own individual pace and according to their own choice of activities. Learning is an exciting process of discovery. At the JPS Montessori, children are grouped in mixed ages and abilities. Multi-age flexible grouping allows each child to find his/her own pace. This allows for constant interaction, problem solving, child to child teaching and socialization. The children are challenged according to their ability and are never bored.
JPS Montessori Equity Goal
The Montessori Model cultivates an inclusive environment where all staff and students feel safe, valued, respected and cherished. It embraces and celebrates diverse cultural backgrounds and traditions, fostering a sense of love and belonging for everyone.

JPS Montessori Weekly Announcements
Good Evening Montessori Families!
This is Mr. Jayne with your weekly update.
Trimester two is in full swing and report cards for trimester one will be coming home on December 5th.
December is a busy month full of lots of activities!
Our monthly People of Montessori Students or POMS meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 4th at 5:30pm in the conference room. Child care is provided.
Parent’s Night out will be on Friday, December 6th. This is a fundraiser for our People of Montessori PTO. It will take place from 5-7pm and the cost is $20. This provides food, drinks, snacks and fun!
The Christmas Store will be at school December 9-13th. All items are $2 or less. If you have any questions, please contact our parent liaison, Sonia Wicker at sonia.wicker@jpsk12.org
Our annual Christmas Music Program is Wednesday, December 18th at 1:30pm. All are welcome to attend!
As the weather gets colder, please make sure students are dressed in coats, hats and gloves. We go outside everyday unless the temperature is below 10 degrees. If you are in need of outdoor essentials, please call the school or let their classroom teacher know.
This is the season for germs and illness to start amping up. Please keep in mind that regular attendance is required per law. Regular attendance is essential for student success. Michigan law requires all children from six to eighteen to attend school. If your child is not at school due to sickness they will be considered unexcused absences unless there is a doctor's note regarding the illness. If your child has missed a significant amount of school Ms. Tonya will be reaching out to you to address barriers and to help ensure your child is successful! We appreciate your partnership in your child’s academic journey!
December 20th is the last day of school before Winter Break. School will resume on January 6th.
That’s all for this week. Parents and guardians, thank you for everything that you do. Enjoy the rest of your evening! And, as always, Go, Vikings!!
